Geely Follows Volvo’s Safety Ratings With 5-Stars

Geely Auto has developed 8 vehicles to date that have reached a 5-star or higher rating from CNCAP. All of Geely Auto’s 3.0 era range of vehicles are expected to reach five stars as a standard. Several have already set the highest crash test score records in the C-NCAP, first in 2015 by the flagship sedan Emgrand GT scoring 55.8 points then again in 2016 by the Emgrand X7 Sport scoring 58.2 out of a maximum of 61 points.

From the very beginning of each Geely vehicle’s life, safety is placed first. Built into the design, development, and production of a Geely vehicles passive safety features means to save occupant lives. But just protecting people inside is not enough, like with Volvo Cars, pedestrians, cyclists, even animals can be assured, as comprehensive active safety makes sure they are all protected around a Geely vehicle. With much of the technology becoming standard in Geely’s 3rd generation models, G-Safety is setting a new benchmark for safety in the industry.

The Proton X70 which is a product of Geely has been awarded a 5-star rating by ASEAN NCAP in the latest crash safety test. Geely credits this achievement to its Hot Press Forming (HPF) technology for body structures, which provides a high level of protection for passengers. The combination of 6-airbags, Isofix child mounts and seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters help the X70 achieve a perfect score for the side impact and head protection tests.
