Mercedes-Benz Trucks wants to prove that all-electric prime movers are viable before Tesla do. Their fully-electric eActros will begin doing daily test runs of 168km beginning spring this year.

It’s worth noting that those 168 kilometres are split up into 3 shifts, so continuous operation will have to be tested some other time. The vehicle’s full range is expected to be 200km.

This eActros was handed over to a German logistics company as the first phase of testing. It will transport twelve tonnes and be operational for a total of twelve tours a day.
