The LEGO McLaren Senna Weighs 500kg More than the Real Thing

McLaren and LEGO have quite a shared history now. In the LEGO roster, you can get either Speed Champions 720S or Senna (the P1 was retired) from their official stores or order a ‘Rebrickable’ unofficial P1 Technic-inspired model.

But today, we’re looking at something you absolutely can’t buy – a full-sized LEGO McLaren Senna. It’s actually LEGO’s second 1:1 scale build with McLaren. To be fair, LEGO cheated a little bit by using actual car parts in their build. These include the carbon-fibre driver’s seat, steering wheel, pedals, badges, wheels and tyres which all come from the actual car.

But beyond that it’s quite impressive. The dihedral doors, for instance, are all LEGO. The brick-built Senna weighs some 1700kg, which is 500kg more than the actual car!

Here, this video ought to give you a closer look at the behind the scenes of this build.
