Does this new Audi Q3 Sportback Appeal to Malaysians?
Car manufacturers, particularly premium brands, have been moving the game from sedans and coupes to suvs and coupe-inspired SUVs. We’ve seen this trickle down to cars like the Kia Sportage Coupe and Renault Arkana. But since the market for cars like these is still relatively fresh, Audi are pushing out a new model to fill the gap. It’s called the Q3 Sportback.
While the base Q3 is aimed at cars like the BMW X2, the Sportback will take on more larger and upmarket cars like the BMW X4. Seeing that BMW Malaysia just launched the X4 here for under RM400,000, we thought there might be a case for this Q3 Sportback too.
The Q3 Sportback brings in strong couple styling with Audi’s current sporty SUV design language. The new low roofline creates a much longer looking SUV.
Options include:
- quattro all wheel drive
- Matrix LED headlight technology with adaptive high beam
- damper control on the suspension
- hill descent control
- electric tailgate with foot motion actuation
- contour/ambient lighting package with 30 colours
- 2.0 TFSI or 2.0 TDI engine options
What’s really cool is that Audi is giving the Q3 Sportback pretty high-end displays as standard. All cars come with a 10.25″ digital instrument cluster with a 12.3″ Audi virtual cockpit available optionally. The centrally mounted touch display measures 10.1″ and comes with MMI Navigation Plus optionally.
Advanced safety features are present as standard including lane departure warning, lane change warning, pre sense front and more.
Optionally, adaptive cruise control with aid from 360 degree cameras, park assist and rear cross-traffic alert are available. The Q3 Sportback will go on sale in Europe later this year for more than 40,000 euros.
