Wang Hao Crowned China Endurance Championship TCER Champion

It was a successful showing for the four Audi RS 3 LMS entries in the China Endurance Championship (CEC) season finale in Wuhan, as Wang Hao celebrated winning the TCER class Drivers’ title and his team, NewFaster, the TCER Teams’ championship.

Sun Jun Long, Zou Bao Long and Liang Zhi Wei in the sister #82 Team NewFaster Audi RS 3 LMS closed their season on a high note with a TCER class victory, ahead of Wang who teamed up with Liu Ran in the #21 car. Third on the TCER podium was the #81 car of Tse Ka Hing and Philip Tang, also of Team NewFaster, with Leo Racing’s Felipe Souza, Alex Hui and Sunny Wong fourth at the annual Wuhan Street Race.

“Congratulations to Wang Hao and NewFaster for securing two more titles with the Audi RS 3 LMS in China,” said Martin Kuehl, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia. “These are now the fourth and fifth championship titles for the Audi RS 3 LMS in China. It has been a year of strong achievements by our customer teams and drivers.”

Wang arrived in Wuhan having already sealed the TCER title, with the Chinese driver having scored two race victories earlier this season. That combined with two additional podium finishes meant that he had an unassailable lead heading into the fifth and final round. His second place in class in the final race sealed his 100 percent podium record over the season.

Team NewFaster can look back on a very successful season having taken TCER victories in every one of the five CEC races this season.

The championship win adds to the team’s TCR China Drivers’ and Teams’ titles. Also factoring in Filipe Souza of Champ x TA Motorsport’s championship win in southern China’s Circuit Hero One earlier in the year, that’s five TCR titles won by Chinese customers and teams with the Audi RS 3 LMS in 2019.

In 2020, results in these championships will count towards each driver’s ranking in the Audi Sport Asia Trophy. A competition open to all Audi customers competing in Asia in GT3, GT2, GT4 and TCR series and competitions.
