BMW Malaysia Launches CKD X1 sDrive20i M Sport and 320i Sport

BMW Malaysia expands its portfolio of locally-assembled vehicles with the launch of the new X1 sDrive20i M Sport and 320i Sport.

Both models will be on display at The Square, Publika and Bangsar Shopping Centre starting today. Test drives will also be available on-site, along with exclusive BMW red packet and fortune cookie giveaways.

X1 sDrive20i M Sport

The X1’s athletic look is further enhanced with the BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line trim and the M Aerodynamics Package. The latter includes tailpipes, which have grown in diameter from 70 to 90 mm, and 18-inch M light alloy wheels in Double-Spoke Style 570 M Bicolour. The addition of M Sport suspension system reduces the height ride by 10 mm to a new 1,588 mm.

Apart from LED headlights and fog lamps, the crossover also gets a Welcome Light Carpet that projects the characters “X1” onto the ground in two tones when the vehicle is unlocked.

Inside, the X1 gets the M leather steering wheel, along with Aluminium trim finishers and Pearl Chrome highlights. The new central element for infotainment is the new 8.8-inch touchscreen system that can be used to control entertainment and navigation functions via voice control or the iDrive controller.

Powering the X1 sDrive20i M Sport is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 192 hp at 5,000 – 6,000 rpm and 280 Nm at 1,350 – 4,600 rpm. Thanks to a 7-Speed Steptronic dual clutch sport transmission, it completes the century sprint in 7.6 seconds and has a top speed of 224 km/h. Combined fuel consumption and carbon emission are rated at 6.5 l/100 km and 149 g/km, respectively.

The X1 sDrive20i M Sport is offered in four colours, namely Misano Blue, Black Sapphire, Alpine White and Mineral Grey, paired with Black Leather Dakota upholstery with perforations.

The retail pricing (on the road, without insurance, and with BMW Malaysia’s latest 5 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty, Free Scheduled Service Programme and BMW Tyre Warranty Programme) starts from RM233,800.

320i Sport

The newest varian in the G20 3 Series porfolio features 18-inch light alloy wheels in V-Spoke Style 780 Bicolour, LED fog lights and Air Curtains integrated into the outer air intakes and are inserted into the front apron in a horizontal T.

Owners can also look forward to a lighter, more rigid vehicle as the total weight has been further reduced by 30 kg (kerb weight of 1,460 kg) thanks to its lightweight framework.

Inside, the 320i Sport is equipped with the exclusive Sport leather steering wheel, three-zone automatic climate control and interior trim finishers in Aluminium ‘Mesheffect’. BMW Live Cockpit Plus featuring an analogue instrument cluster with 5.7-inch display and 8.8-inch touch sensitive control display are also included.

Other standard equipment includes Reversing Assistant, BMW Digital Key with Near Field Communication (NFC), and the BMW ConnectedDrive with Intelligent Emergency Call and Teleservices.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. With 184 hp at 5,000 – 6,500 rpm and 300 Nm at 1,350 – 4,000 rpm, the sedan sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds before maxing out at 235 km/h. It consumes 6.3 litres of fuel per 100 km and generates 144 g/km of CO2.

The 320i Sport can be had in Mediterranean Blue, Black Sapphire, Alpine White, Mineral Grey and Sunset Orange, paired with Black Leather Vernasca upholstery.
