12,000 Units of Lexus and Toyota Recalled in Malaysia
UMW Toyota and Lexus Malaysia have issued a Special Service Campaign on 12,000 units of cars to have their fuel pumps replaced. These affect models built between 2013 and 2019. The following models are affected by the recall:

- LC500
- LC500H
- LS460
- LS500
- LS500H
- LS600H
- NX200T
- NX300H
- RC350
- RC300H
- RX350
- RX450H
- RX350
- RX450

PRESS RELEASE
The safety of our customers is always Toyota’s top priority. UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT), distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Malaysia, today announced a Special Service Campaign (SSC) to replace the fuel pump on certain units of Toyota and Lexus models.
Based on information received from Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), there are around 12,000 units of Toyota (Alphard, Camry, Corolla, Innova and Fortuner) and 1,500 units of Lexus models (GS300, GS350, IS300, LC500/500H, LS460, LS500/500H, LS600H, NX200T/300H, RC350/300H, RX350/450H and RX350/450) manufactured from 2013 to 2019 and distributed by UMWT involved in this campaign. Model not listed here are not affected by this campaign.
The subject vehicles are equipped with a fuel pump which may stop operating. If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and engine power hesitation may happen. This may result the vehicle stall and unable to start. This scenario could increase the risk of a crash while driving at higher speed.
UMWT will officially notify all its affected vehicle owners to update the fuel pump unit at no charge. However, the replacement work should depend on the car models.
