0This Suzuki Swift is Equipped with Lancer Evo X Parts
The practice of swapping a large engine into a small car is not uncommon in the car tuning scene. In fact, it is one of the quickest, easiest ways to attain very high power-to-weight ratio, if that is what you’re trying to achieve.
This Suzuki Swift is one prime example of how engine swapping should be done. Prepared by Dytko Sport, a Poland-based workshop specializing in building rally cars, this little hatchback has been equipped with mechanical parts cannibalized from a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.
Yes, you read that right. This Swift basically has a soul of a rally legend thanks to a 4B11T 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. The amount of power this car has is unspecified but on paper, the Evo X has an output that ranges from 276 hp in the base model to 440 hp in the range-topping FQ 440 variant.
With so little information divulged, we’re just going to assume that this car is equipped with a sequential transmission connected to the Evo’s all-wheel drive system. The suspension also appears to have been reworked to be able to handle strenuous duties on the rally course.
As you can see, Dytko has also given the Swift an aggressive widebody kit that includes a roof scoop and an outrageous double rear spoiler. The interior has been stripped to accommodate the FIA-certified roll cage, while the driver and navigator sit in an OMP HTE-R 400 bucket seat.
