Suzuki Motorcycles Back in Malaysia

The Malaysian two-wheeler market is set to experience some major changes in the months ahead. On one hand, Modenas will reportedly take over the Kawasaki franchise and locally assemble some of its bikes, and on the other, Kawasaki Motors (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. or KMSB could be handling the Suzuki brand in the future.

The rumour regarding the latter has been making the rounds for quite a while now. Although it has yet to be announced by either party, KMSB seemed to have confirmed the news earlier this month via a box of mooncake sent to the members of media. On the box, there were two greeting cards – one from KMSB and the other from Suzuki Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Both cards show a similar address in the HICOM Glenmarie Industrial Park in Shah Alam.

At this point, you might be wondering if Suzuki is really back in Malaysia – the answer is yes. Earlier today, Suzuki Malaysia has made its return official with an announcement on its official Facebook page. “Stay connected on our social media for updates and interesting news coming Up NEXT!,” the company says.

Well, the brand did not wait long because a few hours after the announcement, they posted a teaser of the upcoming GSX R. We’re not sure which model of the GSX-R will be brought in but the news has certainly got the fans excited.

The greeting cards and the announcement by Suzuki Malaysia have made the picture much clearer but let’s just wait for the official announcement on the joint venture. We feel there are exciting times ahead for the local bike enthusiasts, especially those who have been longing for Suzuki.
