11th Generation Honda Civic Production Model Previewed
Earlier this week, Honda of Canada shared an image of the upcoming 11th-generation Honda Civic sedan in production form. Only a single image was shared of the car in its front three-quarter view with very little accompanying information. The car will be made for the North American market in Canada at the Honda factory in Alliston, Ontario.
Compared to the prototype Civic, which was shown in November 2020, this production variant features a few subtle changes to its design. Most notably, the grille has been inverted from a ‘V’ shape to an ‘A’ shape. The “Solid Wing Face” grille bar in body colour has been retained, but the curve on its seems slightly softer.
There are other minor changes to the front, including squarish fog lights on the bumper corners and larger black plastic trim pieces on the bumper, surround the fog lights.
Other, sportier variants including an Si Sedan and Type R hatchback model will be introduced later on.
The 11th generation Honda Civic features a more mature and upmarket design while retaining the low slung package of the current Civic model.
Here’s the press release with more.
Honda offered the first official exterior look at the production 2022 Civic Sedan as preparations for the start of mass production near completion at Honda of Canada Mfg. in Alliston, Canada. Previewed in November 2020 with the Civic Prototype, the 2022 Honda Civic Sedan is the most fun to drive and technologically advanced sedan in the model’s nearly 50-year history.
Inspired by the timeless design and human-focused values of past Civics, designers and engineers prioritized Honda’s human-centered design philosophy, which maximizes the total environment for the driver and passengers, while minimizing the space needed for mechanical components. The goal is to increase the driver’s ability to enjoy the car safely. The result is a sporty new look and an all-new simple and sporty interior that advances essential Civic values of uncluttered design, simple ergonomics and exceptional visibility.
