Porsche Taycan GTS Launched In Malaysia For RM708K

Sime Darby Auto Performance has launched the new Porsche Taycan GTS in Malaysia.

The Porsche Taycan has been extremely popular in Malaysia and around the world. There are two body styles and plenty of variants. Malaysians can now expect to see a brand new variant of the 4-door Taycan as it has been launched here by Sime Darby Auto Performance, who represent the Porsche brand in Malaysia.

“We are driven by our passion for sports cars and sustainability as Porsche introduced the first all-electric sports car in Malaysia, – the Taycan – marking a new era of sporty electromobility.

Since then, the Taycan model range has been well-received and today, we are bringing a new derivative that represents the sweet spot in the Taycan range, the GTS,” said Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance.

The Porsche Taycan GTS comes with the Premium Package as standard in Malaysia and is priced at RM708,000 for 2022 including the ongoing SST discount on fully-imported vehicles. Paired with the current road tax exemption for all electric vehicles, this Taycan GTS is shaping up to be a steal for many a Dato’ Sri in the market for a new set of emissions-free wheels.

The Premium Package includes an on-board 22kW AC Charger, Mobile Charger Connect, Charging Cable, Home Energy Manager, 4 Zone Advanced Climate Control, electrically-folding exterior mirrors, passenger display, ParkAssist with surround view and more.w

The 4-door Porsche Taycan was launched in Malaysia in September 2020 and is available in four variants – Taycan, Taycan 4S, Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S. Only the standard Taycan is a rear-wheel drive vehicle, the rest feature all-wheel drive. The Taycan GTS slots right below the Taycan Turbo in terms of pricing, power output and specifications.

It is positioned as the sporty all-rounder of the range in Malaysia with 598PS of overboost power with Launch Control, giving it a 0-100km/h time of 3.7 seconds and a maximum speed of 250km/h. This mode can be active for ten seconds at a time. In most cases, the motors will be limited to a more reasonable, but still impressive 517PS.

The Porsche Taycan GTS comes with a 93.4kWh Performance Battery Plus and comes with a new range of optimisations that allow it an official range of 504km. This makes it the first Taycan model in Malaysia to break the 500km range barrier.

The Porsche Taycan GTS gets Porsche Active Suspension Management tuned specially for this particular variant. The optional rear-axle steering is set up to be even sportier too and a richer sound pattern for the Porsche Electric Sport Sound are key drive highlights of this particular Taycan model.

In terms of looks, the GTS model gets loads of blackened or darkened details on the exterior, as is tradition for Porsche’s bearing these three letters. Black Race-Tex is featured heavily in the cabin, as is brushed aluminium and black anodised finishings.

Another new option for the Taycan GTS is the panoramic roof with Sunshine Control, which transforms the roof glass from clear to opaque at the touch of a button. This is not the first vehicle to bring this feature, but in typical Porsche fashion, some innovation has been done here.

For the first time in any car, there are 9 different segments that can be switched individually and there are different levels to the opacity (Clear, Semi, Bold and Matte).
