BMW M3 Competition xDrive And M4 Competition xDrive In Malaysia

The BMW M3 Competition xDrive and BMW M4 Competition xDrive are now in Malaysia.

BMW Malaysia has launched the new BMW M3 Competition xDrive and BMW M4 Competition xDrive. This is the first time M3 and M4 models are being offered with M xDrive, which debuted on the BMW M5 back in 2017. It is also available on the BMW M8.

Both the M3 Competition and the M4 Competition are powered by the same 3.0L M TwinPower Turbo 6 cylinder petrol engines with 8-speed M Steptronic transmissions sending power to all four wheels. They are configured to deliver 510hp and 650Nm of torque, enabling century sprint times of 3.5 seconds.

The M xDrive system is configured to send most of the power to the rear wheels under normal driving conditions. It automatically sends power to the front wheels when traction is at its limits. An Active M differential at the rear axle splits power between the two rear wheels for better traction, agility and directional stability on roads. 4WD, 4WD Sport and 2WD driving modes enable the driver to extract different driving characteristics from the BMW M3 and BMW M4. These performance models also come with carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) roofs that cut the overall weight and lower the centre of gravity. As with all BMW M models, the M3 and M4 have also had their body structures and chassis mounting points stiffened. There are new bracing elements in the engine compartment, underfloor and subframes.

The BMW M3 and M4 get Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers and M Servotronic steering with variable ratios and M Compound brakes as standard. Also standard is Integrated Wheel Slip Limitation.

Both models feature the controversial frameless, elongated kidney grilles. On these models they are all-black M kidney grilles. These cars also come with M forged light alloy wheels (18″ in front and 19″ in the rear), M Drive Professional with track statistics tracking, an M Drift Analyser, M Latimer and M Traction Control. The BMW Live Cockpit Professional, BMW Maps navigation system, and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant are standard features.

M Performance Parts and other customisations can be done via the online configurator but will not be packaged as standard.

Pricing is as follows:

  • BMW M3 Competition xDrive sedan – RM827,800.00
  • BMW M4 Competition xDrive coupé – RM848,800.00
