All-New 2022 Perodua Alza Launched From RM62,500 with 30,000 Bookings

The all-new 2022 Perodua Alza makes history with a new record for Perodua’s highest number of bookings to date

2022 Perodua Alza

The all-new 2022 Perodua Alza is now bigger, sportier and more versatile than before, featuring phenomenal improvements over the previous model in terms of space, functionality, technology and features. It also made history by garnering its highest number of bookings to date of 30,000 units.

Clearly, Perodua meant it when they dubbed the new Alza “Versatility Reinvented” and said that this car represents the future of Perodua at the 2022 Perodua Alza launch event, attended by our honourable Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad said, “This achievement was due to several factors, chief among them was that customers wanted to take full advantage of sales tax exemption initiative which expired on 30 June 2022 and of the over 200,000 bookings we currently hold, nearly 15% was for this full model change.”

2022 Perodua Alza

Now, if you put the reinvented 2022 Perodua Alza next to it’s predecessor, no one would know they were the same car. With boxier proportions and a larger size, the new Alza looks almost like an SUV instead of an MPV. The car also features a completely overhauled front and rear design as well as a1.5l petrol engine for all three variants.

On the outside, It also features a new, more pronounced chrome and glossy black front grille, LED Headlights with sequential turn indicators, LED fog lamps, LED tail lights, auto folding side mirrors with LED turn signals and new sporty rims.

As for the interior, the 2022 Perodua Alza features 2-tone semi leather seats (only available in the AV variant), a redesigned, modern centre console with a a parking brake switch and an armrest for the first and second row, and seating configurations to accommodate two, five or seven passengers with a rest mode too.

The 2022 Perodua Alza also comes with a 7-inch infotainment display (only for 1.5 L and 1.5 AV variants), tons of seating space as well as usable storage space, modern creature comforts like USB ports in the middle row and rear air conditioning vents to ensure everyone in the car is comfortable.

Being a family car, Perodua has packed the all-new 2022 Perodua Alza with safety features including 6 airbags, Perodua’s Advanced Safety Assist (A.S.A), driving assist features, parking assist features and headlamp assist along with an integrated Driving Video Recorder (DVR) and Isofix tethers on the rear seats and so much more.

One thing that stood out to me was the fact that Perodua opted to go with vintage brown as their “hero colour,” a strange move when other car makers, especially the likes of Mazda and Ferrari, choose red. Why do you think this is?

Is Perodua trying to stand out or is the brown version just better looking than the other colours on the 2022 Perodua Alza?
