Petronas Setel Simplified To ‘One-Tap Fuelling’
The Petronas Setel app gets even more efficient with ‘One-Tap Fuelling’.
When it comes to refuelling in Malaysia, customers have loads of choices. We personally prefer BHPetrol for their generous use of high-quality additives for our classics and modern direct injection cars. Others prefer Petronas for their Setel app.
The Setel app was quite revolutionary when it first appeared. This week, it has been enhanced further with a new ‘One-Tap Fuelling’ feature. Previously, there were five layers of clicks before one could start fuelling up at a Petronas station. ‘One-Tap Fuelling’ requires an initial set up, but once it’s activated, things are much easier. Just pull up to ANY fuel pump at ANY Petronas station and select the pump number to begin fuelling.
Everything else is automated, as before. The app will know which station you’re at using your smartphone’s location, the pump will be enabled remotely, the app will charge one of your pre-registered payment methods, the Mesra points will be added to your account, and the invoice will be saved on the app.
However, this ‘One-Tap Fuelling’ feature is apparently still in its beta testing phase. Only the first 1,000 registered Setel users will be able to use it for now. As bugs are ironed out, other users will be given access to it over the next 2 months.
