Peugeot Landtrek Officially Launched In Malaysia For RM120K

The Peugeot Landtrek pick-up truck officially arrives in Malaysia with an attractive price tag.

This morning, Bermaz Auto launched the all-new Peugeot Landtrek – a fully-imported double cab pick-up truck. The Landtrek was previewed earlier this year and its launch in Malaysia represents the nameplate’s Asia Pacific debut. Later on, Stellantis will begin production of the Landtrek at their Gurun plant for local sale and export to other markets in the region.

At launch, the Peugeot Landtrek is available in one specification with just one powertrain option – which is not the norm for most pick-up truck entries here.

The Landtrek 1.9D Allure brings power from a 4-cylinder turbo diesel that produces 150 hp at 4,000rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1,800rpm and 2,800rpm.

When asked if this was the same engine that is found in the new Isuzu D-Max and Mazda BT-50, Bermaz officials said it was a completely different engine altogether.

The gearbox is a 6-speed conventional automatic with 2WD High, 4WD High and 4WD Low selectable through a rotary switch. There’s a mechanical locking differential at the rear.

The Peugeot Landtrek is based on the Changan Kaicene F70 but features engineering and design work done by the French company. Equipment includes LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, auto wipers, power adjustable and folding side mirrors, power adjustable front seats with lumbar support, a 360-degree parking camera with 3D view, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, a 4.2″ colour display for the instrument cluster, and a 10″ infotainment unit with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In terms of safety, there are 6 airbags, all the expected braking and stability aids, anchor points and seatbelt reminders. However, advanced safety systems are limited to just Lane Departure Warning. Aesthetically, the Peugeot Landtrek stands out from the crowd with its vibrant colour selection, stylish interior and excellent use of exterior chrome trim.

The truck bed is said to be the largest in its class. A bedliner was not shown at launch but will be equipped when the Landtrek hits Malaysian Peugeot showrooms. It’s also worth noting that the truck bed features LED lighting and 12V socket. Also rear passengers get their own air cond vents and USB charging port.

The Peugeot Landtrek 1.9D Allure has a selling price of RM118,888 in Peninsular Malaysia for private individual customers. It comes with a 5-year/100,000km manufacturer warranty and is available in the following colours:

  • Ceramic White
  • Silver Grey
  • Magnetic Blue
  • Red Rubi
  • Rockstone Grey
  • Olea Green
