Hyundai IONIQ 6 Lite & Plus Variants Now In Malaysia, Bringing Starting Price Down To RM220K
New variants of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 bring the starting price down to RM219,888.
Back in July, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors launched the IONIQ 6 in Max RWD and Max AWD form. These were the flagship variants of the IONIQ 6 and were brought in at a price of RM289,888 and RM319,888 respectively to reflect that status. Now, they’ve introduced two lower tier versions of the IONIQ 6, the Lite and Plus models.
These models are rear-wheel drive (RWD) only and come with a smaller 53 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. The single motor found on these models produces a maximum of 111kW and 350Nm of torque. 0-100km/h on both the IONIQ 6 Lite and IONIQ 6 Plus takes just 8.8 seconds (versus 7.4 second on the Max RWD with its 168kW motor).
The smaller battery understandably impacts the IONIQ 6’s range. The WLTP cycle shows both variants are capable of 429km on a full charge. On the plus side, there’s more room in the front trunk (45L vs 14.5L) thanks to the smaller battery. Also, the same 800-volt architecture is present here as it’s integral to the E-GMP backbone of the IONIQ 6. 350kW DC fast charging can get the battery up from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes or 58 minutes on 50 kW DC Fast Charging. 11kW AC charging from 0-100% takes 5.5 hours.
In terms of equipment, both Lite and Plus come with seven airbags, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Vehicle-to-Load charging, dual 12.3″ screens, Android Auto & Apple Carplay, 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, a powered tailgate, automatic dual zone climate control, a TPMS and so much more. It also comes with the 18″ Aero wheels found on the Max RWD model.
In fact, most of the equipment list is largely the same as the Max RWD variant except:
LITE & PLUS models omit:

- Premium Relaxion front seats
- Heads-Up Display
The LITE model OMITS these additional features:
- Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance (Rear)
- Forward Collision-Avoidance 2
- Parking Collision Avoidance Assist (Reverse/Forward/Side)
- Surround View Monitor
- Auto door handles
- Leather seats
- Powered front seats
- Bose 8-speaker sound system (6-speaker sound system instead)
- Electric – Active Sound Design (e-ASD)

- Nocturne Grey Matte
- Buiphillic Blue Pearl
- Dive Blue Solid
- Gravity Gold Matte
Pricing for the Hyundai IONIQ 6 is as follows in Malaysia with these new variants:
- Hyundai IONIQ 6 LITE RWD – RM219,888
- Hyundai IONIQ 6 PLUS RWD – RM249,888
- Hyundai IONIQ 6 MAX RWD – RM289,888
- Hyundai IONIQ 6 MAX AWD – RM319,888
