Tragedy Of A Convoy That Claimed 3 Lives Last Weekend

The tragedy of the trio convoy took place at Felda Jengka 17 on Saturday

We often go about our days completely ignorant of the fact that at any given moment, this all could end. We hop on a plane never thinking it might be our last ride, we eat never assuming it could be our last meal, well for these 3 friends, the latter happened and this entire ordeal is tragic indeed. Let’s look into it.

So it has been reported that a convoy of 3 friends on 3 Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycles returning home from Temerloh after a hearty catfish meal crashed head on into a Peugeot car on the highway near Felda Jengka 17 on Saturday (9 September 2023). The crash happened at around 6.15 P.M. and claimed all 3 of their lives.

Moreover, Maran District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Norzamri Abd Rahman stated that the victims, namely Fadhil Syah Sulaiman, 19, and Muhammad Firdaus Zainal Abidin, 20, each officially reside at Felda Lepar Utara 1 and Mohd Ridhwan Mahayadin, 35, who resides in Felda Jengka 17, died on the spot.

According to the Deputy Superintendent, the results of the initial investigation found that the tragedy occurred when the car driven by a 51 year old man from the direction of Bandar Pusat Jengka was heading towards Temerloh, while the three motorcyclists from the direction of Temerloh were heading towards Bandar Pusat Jengka.

The Deputy superintendent also said, “When he arrived at the scene of the incident, the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle and went into the opposite lane where he then collided with the three motorcyclists.”

“As a result of the collision, all three of the riders died at the scene and the bodies were taken to the Forensic Division of Jengka Hospital to perform autopsies.” the Deputy Superintendent stated in a statement on Sunday (10 September 2023).

On top of that, the Deputy Superintendent also stated that the driver of the car in this tragedy was injured during the accident and taken to the same hospital to receive treatment and added that the preliminary investigations revealed that the accident was caused by the driver failing to control his vehicle.

The deputy Superintendent concluded with “This case was investigated under section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987 and we have tracked down witnesses of the accident to assist in the investigation.”
