Toyota & Lexus Announce Japan Mobility Show 2023 Booths

Toyota and Lexus will be at the first-ever Japan Mobility Show.

The Japan Mobility Show is coming later this month and it looks like every Japanese car brand has signed up to display. Both Toyota and Lexus have simultaneously revealed some of their plans at the show.

For Toyota, their booth will be themed “Let’s Change The Future Of Cars – Find Your Future”. Visitors will be treated to stage music and dance performances throughout the entire area. They’ll also be previewing what life in a Toyota-centric mobility society will look like through attractions like customised mobility vehicles at the Capsule Bar and a hand-operated driving simulator based on Gran Turismo 7 and actual Toyota developed technology. Vehicles on display will include the new Century and Crown series of flagship machines. There’s also a photo opportunity with the new Toyota lunar buggy and other ‘future-themed’ take-home mementos.

As for the Lexus booth, the theme is “Pushing The Boundaries Of The Electrified Experience”. At this booth, Lexus will debut their next generation Battery Electric Vehicle concept lineup, which will shape the brand’s transition to be an EV-exclusive brand by 2035. Lexus currently only sells two battery electric vehicles – the UX 300e and the RZ, which is built on the fundamentals of the Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4X. It will be interesting to see which other market segments Lexus will target with their upcoming EVs. Perhaps we’ll see an EV version of every sedan and SUV model they sell or perhaps they’ll come up with some all-new models that streamline the model line-up a little. It’ll also be worth paying attention to the battery chemistry that Lexus will use. These models will likely come at the end of the decade when Toyota’s solid-state battery technology will be ready for production.

The booth will be made of sustainable bamboo material which reflects traditional Japanese aesthetics while being environmentally-friendly inline with the brand’s commitment to achieving a carbon-neutral society.

Additionally, there will be VR driving simulators to give visitors a taste of the Lexus Electrified VR Experience.

The Japan Mobility Show 2023 is happening at Tokyo Big Sight between 28 October to 5 November.
