Nissan Note Updated In Japan For 2024 With New Rotating Passenger Seat

The new Nissan Note may point to brand’s identity after the V-Motion Grille disappears.

The Nissan Note may not be sold in Malaysia, but there’s at least one reason why Nissan fans here may be interested to see how the nameplate is advancing. The latest 2024 update shows a minor design tweak that indicates a major evolution of the V-Motion grille. There are other features that were quite interesting on this new Note as well that we’ll explore below.

About The Nissan Note

The Nissan Note was brought into its third generation at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Japan, it became the No.1 best selling electric vehicle – though it’s really more of a range-extender type electric vehicle with its e-Power system.

The facelift brings a new front design with new functions and improved usability while maintaining its attractive low price, comfortable ride and excellent NVH qualities.

New Front Design

Nissan calls the new grille design the “new-age digital V-motion”. The new look features a body-coloured front bumper for a “fresher and more advanced feel”. The grille itself is finished in dark metal gray and there are elements of the grille and bumper that blend into each other.

Nissan has also produced a new 16″ wheel cover with traditional geometric patterns for a retro-modern 3D feel. There are also new colours for a total of 14 choices including violet and two-tone colour options.

Inside, you get a new mizuhiki motif on the instrument panel, a running pattern on the seat fabric and stripes throughout that harmonises with the new grille and wheel cover’s look.

New Functions and Standard Features

The Nissan Note features LED headlamps as standard on all grades. The glove box has been enlarged and divided into two storage areas. The Intelligent Key now automatically unlocks the car as you approach it and locks the vehicle once you leave the vehicle.

An all-new feature on this facelift is the Passenger Seat Rotating Seat. This allows the front passenger seat to be rotated and swiveled to face the door. This helps ingress and egress for older folk or those with weaker legs. It’s also a modesty feature for those wearing skirts as passengers do not need to spread their legs when getting in and out of the car. There’s also a footrest attached to the seat.

While the Nissan Note itself isn’t coming to Malaysia, we’d be interested to see the Passenger Seat Rotating Seat function make its way to more Nissan products.
