Audi Q8 e-tron edition Dakar Unveiled: A High-Performance Electric SUV for Off-Road Enthusiasts
The Audi Q8 e-tron edition Dakar adds a little off-road spice to the electric SUV formula.
In a nod to the legendary Dakar Rally, Audi introduces the Q8 e-tron edition Dakar, a high-performance electric SUV set to captivate adventurous drivers. With a distinctive design inspired by the RS Q e-tron, this exclusive model boasts off-road capabilities, making it an ideal choice for those seeking electric thrills beyond the paved roads. We do not think that PHS Automotive Malaysia will bring this model to our country, but given that they sell the Q8 e-tron here, we thought this might be of interest to local fans and customers.
Performance Of the Q8 advanced 55 e-tron quattro model
The Q8 e-tron edition Dakar is built on the foundation of the Q8 advanced 55 e-tron quattro (sold in Malaysia), featuring a robust electric drivetrain. With a net battery size of 106 kWh and a quattro drivetrain delivering 300 kW in boost mode, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.
The General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tires enhance its off-road prowess, providing a higher ground clearance of 31 millimeters and ensuring stability on various surfaces. The SUV’s range, according to WLTP, is an impressive 487 kilometers, offering both power and endurance for adventurous journeys.
Exterior Appointments
Available in Siam Beige metallic, Mythos Black metallic, and Magnetic Gray, the Q8 e-tron edition Dakar showcases a sporty off-road look. The widened wheel arch trims and exclusive decals inspired by the RS Q e-tron add to its commanding presence.
LED lights project “edition Dakar” onto the ground when the driver’s door is opened, emphasizing the exclusivity of this model. Limited to just 99 units, the wrapped models feature a unique serial number on the D-pillar.
Upgraded Equipment, Inside and Out
The edition Dakar comes equipped with Matrix LED headlights, tinted sun visors, and the S line interior package, featuring sports seats, a leather steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, and more. The Audi Sport stitching package in red adds a touch of flair to the cabin, complementing the MMI display that showcases exclusive theme worlds created for this edition. Additional features include a head-up display, a phone box for wireless smartphone connectivity, and standard City and Tour assistance packages, making the interior both luxurious and technologically advanced.
Opt for the optional ambient light package plus, and experience up to 30 colors illuminating the interior. The Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System with 3D sound adds another layer of sophistication. For improved visibility in off-road conditions, virtual side mirrors with cameras reduce the vehicle’s width and enhance overall aerodynamics.
Practicality and Convenience
The Q8 e-tron edition Dakar doesn’t compromise on practicality. It includes a storage and luggage compartment package, a durable luggage compartment liner, and a roof rack with a 40-kilogram load capacity, meaning you can carry a spare tyre if you’d like. Adventure-seekers will appreciate the second charging socket, compatible with the Combined Charging System Type 2 (CCS2), and the e-tron charging system for versatile charging options.
