Tesla Drives Right Into Brick Wall Despite Having Modern Safety Systems

Perhaps it is time for Tesla to admit their products aren’t even worth RM50k, let alone RM200k

So let me start off by asking a simple question. What happened to all the sophisticated safety systems present in this car worth almost RM200,000 that it did not prevent this kind of accident? After all, even the sub RM100,000 Proton S70 managed to auto brake when motorcyclists were weaving into my lane while I drove it in Penang.

Moreover, Tesla has a system outside of Malaysia dubbed “autopilot,” which basically sees the car drive itself. Thank God this system is not here otherwise, I fear this accident may have been much worse. There have been countless incidents similar to this involving Tesla cars yet so many people still flock to buy these cars.

I suppose a silly Tesla badge on one’s car is far more important than the safety and well being of the aforementioned individuals or perhaps they simply hate themselves so much that they would spend far too much on a car that can barely offer more than a Perodua Bezza and still be made a fool of by owning that rubbish car.

Anyway, enough of me ranting, this incident took place at Jalan BS 3/12, Serdang as a customer in a Tesla Model 3 from Pik Wah Restaurant (碧华楼) ran straight through a brick wall and claimed that the road was too dark for them to see the wall ahead. Right, so the fancy cameras and radar detectors on the Tesla are just for show then?

On top of that, I don’t get how this brand is not banned yet, be it in Malaysia or any other part of the world. Honestly, we Malaysians boycott other brands for less but just because Tesla electric vehicles (EVs) are seen as trendy, we allow brands like Tesla to overcharge us for low quality products and let it slide? What does that say about us?

Many wonder why there is a wall in the middle of the road in the first place and while it is strange the wall has been there for almost 10 years now. Whether one thinks this makes sense or not, the key takeaway is that this location with the wall was updated in every version of maps to be a dead end, so the Tesla shouldn’t have crashed anyway.

I am not trying to tell anyone how to spend their money, so, if you like a Tesla, then that is fine, but at least have some self respect to boycott or ban the brand to threaten them to actually sell a product worth buying for once. After all, if more buyers allow them to keep doing this, they will only make worse products for you. Do you agree?
