Following an extensive presentation by Xiaomi’s founder, Lei Jun, the SU7 sedan’s price range was revealed. With prices ranging from 215,900 yuan to 299,900 yuan (approximately USD30,000 to USD40,000), and the brand has positioned the SU7 as an attractive option within the fickle but profitable EV market.

Moreover, the unveiling of the SU7 sparked an immediate surge in consumer interest, as evidenced by the staggering 50,000 orders received within the first 27 minutes of sales commencement at 10 p.m. Beijing time. One of the most compelling aspects of the Xiaomi SU7 is its competitive pricing. Priced at approximately USD4,000 less than the Tesla Model , which starts at 245,900 yuan (USD34,603) in China, the smartphone maker has positioned itself as a formidable contender in the EV sphere. This aggressive pricing approach not only enhances the car’s appeal but also challenges the established names in the industry.

On top of that, beyond its competitive pricing, the Xiaomi SU7 boasts a host of cutting-edge features and technology similar to the smartphones of the brand. From state-of-the-art connectivity solutions to advanced safety features, the SU7 is poised to deliver an unparalleled driving experience that aligns with the band’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

What’s more, Xiaomi’s entry into the EV market represents a significant step towards fostering sustainability and environmental consciousness. By offering consumers an affordable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional petrol powered vehicles, the brand is joining the charge towards a greener future as so many have done before.

Xiaomi’s debut in the EV market with the SU7 signals a new era of innovation and disruption. With its competitive pricing, advanced features, and commitment to sustainability, the brand is poised to redefine the landscape of the electric vehicle industry in China and beyond. Now we can only wait and see if Malaysia is one of the lucky few markets to receive this EV.

Will see the Xiaomi SU7 on sale here soon or will ASEAN countries take a backseat for now?
