Huawei Unveils Updated Aito M5 SUV In Collaboration With Chinese Carmaker

Huawei also made waves when news of this broke not too long ago

Huawei Technologies Co. made headlines on Tuesday with the grand unveiling of its latest marvel, the upgraded Aito M5 SUV, in a dazzling ceremony held in the heart of Beijing. Collaborating closely with renowned Chinese car manufacturer Seres, Huawei’s foray into the automotive industry promises to reshape the landscape of modern transportation.

Priced competitively at 249,800 yuan (USD34,360 or roughly RM163,509), the Aito M5 is poised to revolutionise the market, offering an array of cutting-edge features and unparalleled performance. Scheduled for mass delivery commencing on 15 May, anticipation is already building among eager consumers and automotive enthusiasts alike.

Moreover, the journey of the Aito M5 began back in December 2021 when Huawei proudly introduced it as the flagship model under its esteemed Aito brand. Building upon this foundation, the upgraded M5 showcases a host of enhancements, including the integration of a sophisticated laser radar system and the introduction of revolutionary remote parking capabilities.

Such innovative features have captivated the imagination of consumers, resulting in an astounding 10,000 cumulative orders within the first 12 hours of pre-sales, a testament to Huawei’s unwavering commitment to excellence.

On top of that, Huawei’s approach to the automotive industry also extends beyond merely manufacturing vehicles. As affirmed by Zhong Shi, a prominent auto analyst, the company has strategically positioned itself within the auto supply chain through two distinct avenues.

Firstly, Huawei leverages its expertise to supply components and cutting-edge technologies to established automakers, exemplified by its successful collaboration with Changan Auto. Secondly, it pioneers the “intelligent car selection mode,” actively engaging in product design, interior aesthetics, and intelligent solutions, while also spearheading marketing and sales efforts.

What’s more, the fruitful partnership with traditional car brands, such as Aito, underscores the effectiveness of this strategy, paving the way for future collaborations and industry breakthroughs. During the grand unveiling event, Yu Chengdong, Chairman of Huawei’s intelligent automotive solutions business unit, shed light on the company’s monumental investment in intelligent driving technology.

Poised to grace the market by July or August of 2024, the Stelato S9 represents Huawei’s inaugural venture into the realm of luxury sedans. With aspirations to rival the finest offerings from international titans such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, the Stelato S9 embodies the brand’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and driving experiences beyond comparison.
