The Alfa Romeo Milano Is The Brand’s First EV With Hybrid Powertrain Coming Later

The Alfa Romeo Milano could be slotted in for a quick launch in Malaysia.

Alfa Romeo, the iconic Italian automaker, has just unveiled its latest creation – the all-new Milano. This is the spiritual successor to both the Giulietta and MiTo but in a crossover format to capture the attention of modern customers. It is also Alfa Romeo’s first ever electric vehicle though the Milano will also be available as a hybrid. Could this be Stellantis Malaysia‘s first Alfa Romeo launch? Time will tell.

Designed with the brand’s signature flair, the Milano’s exterior is a harmonious balance of functional beauty and Alfa Romeo’s rich heritage. Its compact dimensions, measuring just over 4 meters in length, are accentuated by the brand’s signature design cues, including the iconic shield grille, distinctive ‘telescope’ instrument panel, and the legendary Giulia TZ-inspired ‘truncated tail.’ The attention to detail in the Milano’s design is evident in the quality of the surfaces, which create a captivating play of light and shadow.

Under the sleek bodywork, the Milano delivers a truly engaging driving experience. Benefiting from the brand’s motorsport pedigree, the car features a precise and direct steering setup, as well as a sporty suspension and braking system. The Milano is offered with a range of powertrain options, including a hybrid variant with all-wheel drive capability and two fully electric versions, with outputs ranging from 156 to 240 horsepower.

The Milano’s interior is a testament to Alfa Romeo’s commitment to craftsmanship and driver-focused design. The cabin is characterized by premium materials, an intuitive layout, and features such as a compact steering wheel, Sabelt sports seats, and the brand’s iconic ‘telescope’ instrument panel. Connectivity and advanced technology are also at the forefront, with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and a suite of connected services that include voice-activated virtual assistant and over-the-air software updates.

Comfort and practicality are also a focus for the Milano, with the largest trunk in its class (400 liters) and a host of driver assistance features, including level 2 autonomous driving capabilities and a 360-degree parking camera system.

The Alfa Romeo Milano is available in a range of trim levels, including a limited-edition ‘Speciale’ launch version that combines sportiness, technology, and comfort in a unique configuration. This model boasts exclusive exterior and interior features, as well as a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems.

Alfa Romeo’s commitment to the Milano is further underscored by the “Ready to Drive, Anywhere, Anytime” ownership experience. This package includes the brand’s innovative EV Routing technology, which seamlessly integrates charging stops into the navigation system, as well as a complimentary home charging wallbox and access to the extensive Free2Move charging network across Europe.

With the all-new Milano, Alfa Romeo has created a compact car that truly captures the essence of the brand – a thrilling, emotional, and uniquely Italian driving experience. This latest addition to the lineup is poised to captivate a new generation of Alfa Romeo enthusiasts and compete at the forefront of its segment.
