Crossover Of The Year – Honda WR-V RS

The Honda WR-V RS was our VOTY 2024 pick for Crossover of the year.

More and more, we’re seeing customers looking for ways to escape the trappings of convention. The B-segment sedan for ASEAN is a format that has been done to death at this point. Many potential buyers are looking for an SUV shape and don’t mind getting a vehicle that is actually a little smaller if it means paying around the same amount of money. That’s why the Honda WR-V RS is our pick for Crossover of the Year.

It manages to fill the gap previously occupied by the outgoing HR-V and even though it’s barely larger than the City, many customers prefer the crossover shape and are prepared to pay a bit more for it. Under the hood, there’s nothing unfamiliar. It’s all tried and tested stuff from Honda, and it arrived ahead of any direct competition from Japan too.

The Honda WR-V is available from around RM90,000, with a mid-spec model at around RM96,000 and the award winning RS model comes in with more equipment and design enhancements at under RM110,000. 43% of bookings collected for the Honda WR-V before launch were for the RS model and it has proven to be a pretty solid choice in this economy for customers looking for a small runabout that’s big on style.
