With more power and a greater focus on sustainability, the 2026 BMW iX seems good
BMW Malaysia is perhaps the most electric vehicle (EV) focused German brand here in Malaysia at least in my eyes. While the brand was traditionally known for its sporty handling and M line of sports cars, it wasted no time embracing electric mobility when it first gained traction and it does a pretty good job at it too.

The best example I can think of is the BMW iX, which represents a significant advancement in the all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) market, boasting enhanced power, performance and efficiency fueled by sophisticated drive and battery technologies.
Moreover, now with a new 2026 model year upgrade already confirmed and shown to us, complete with a power output increase of up to 25 percent and a notable range of 701km (435 miles), the new BMW iX seems like a really exciting new EV. Now the only question is, will it be sold here in Malaysia too?

The 2026 BMW iX sports multiple innovations like new inverter technology to maximize energy transfer efficiency, while the adaptive recuperation system optimally utilizes energy during driving. The focus on an engaging driving experience is complemented by a robust BMW eDrive system, providing an all-wheel drive setup that ensures exceptional traction and agility.
The range of 2026 BMW iX models, including the iX xDrive45, xDrive60 and M70 xDrive, showcase impressive acceleration capabilities, with the latter variant achieving a century sprint time of just 3.8 seconds, meaning that these new models retain the classic BMW sportiness too.

On top of that, the BMW iX boasts a sophisticated charging system, capable of handling fast charging at multiple capacities. Ultimately offering an enticing blend of luxurious driving, innovative technology and thoughtful design, positioning it as a formidable option in the growing electric vehicle market.
With customizable features and continuous OTA updates, the BMW iX promises an evolving driving experience rooted in both performance and sustainability. Meanwhile, the BMW Operating System 8.5 enhances entertainment offerings with video streaming through the Connected Package Professional alongside innovative in-car gaming via AirConsole.

The standard BMW ID and My BMW App facilitate a personalized experience while ensuring connectivity with 5G support. BMW also emphasizes sustainability throughout its production and design strategies, targeting a 40 percent CO2 reduction by 2030 and striving for a circular economy by increasing the use of secondary materials.

So what do you think of the 2026 BMW iX?
