Alfa Romeo hits another milestone, so will it do the same here in Malaysia?
Stellantis is now well known here in Malaysia, particularly with its brands Leapmotor and Peugeot but did you know the Stellantis umbrella also houses the Alfa Romeo brand? Yes, the sexy Italian brand is actually a part of Stellantis, and it has just made another milestone achievement, so will we see it here in Malaysia soon?

Alfa Romeo has officially seen the 100,000th Tonale SUV manufactured at the Stellantis “Giambattista Vico” plant in Pomigliano d’Arco, near Naples. This iconic model, specifically a Sprint trim in Rosso Alfa, is destined for the Italian market and represents the growing global success of Alfa Romeo’s first step into electrified mobility.
Moreover, since its global debut in 2022, the Alfa Romeo Tonale has set a new benchmark for the brand, combining traditional Italian design with modern hybrid and plug-in hybrid technologies. Its launch marked Alfa Romeo’s bold entrance into the era of electrification while preserving its sporty DNA.

Designed, developed, and produced entirely in Italy, the Alfa Romeo Tonale merges elegant styling, high-performance engineering, and sustainable innovation. Built on a dedicated, highly automated line at the state-of-the-art Pomigliano facility, recognized as one of the most advanced Stellantis plants, the Tonale delivers exceptional quality standards.
The plant itself, operational since 1972, has produced over five million vehicles and underwent major upgrades in 2021 to support hybrid vehicle production. Inside, the Tonale SUV features cutting-edge technology, including a 12.3” reconfigurable digital instrument cluster and a 10.25” touchscreen infotainment system.

On top of that, the lineup includes the 280hp PHEV Q4, a 160hp Ibrida with VGT and a 130hp diesel version, all paired with smooth automatic transmissions. Alfa Romeo Trim levels include Sprint, Veloce and Intensa, with the latter offering exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels, an Alcantara interior and electronically controlled suspension, Harman Kardon audio, and Level 2 ADAS.
Globally acclaimed, the Tonale has earned major awards such as “Europe Car 2023” by UIGA, “Green SUV of the Year™ 2024” by Green Car Journal, and “Best Compact SUV Import” in Germany. It also impressed Latin American critics, winning “Best Design 2025” in Chile.

So Alfa Romeo has already shown its prowess in more ways than one so let’s hope our Governments cut through all the red tape and just bring Alfa Romeo back already.
