Northpoint and PRO-NET push green mobility forward in Malaysia with the Proton e.MAS7
With EVs becoming more prevalent than ever, one question must be asked, “are EVs viable patrol cars?” Well, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd has partnered with PRO-NET to integrate EVs into its security operations. This collaboration sees the deployment of three Proton e.MAS 7 units, Malaysia’s leading electric SUV, into Northport’s auxiliary police patrol fleet.
With this milestone, Northport becomes the first organization and port operator in Malaysia to adopt the e.MAS 7 under a fleet arrangement, reinforcing its leadership in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts and commitment to sustainable transportation. The Proton e.MAS 7, designed for everyday use, represents a significant step forward in green mobility.
Moreover, Mr. Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, “We are honoured to collaborate with Northport, a forward-thinking organisation that truly embodies sustainability. This deployment proves that electric vehicles are not just futuristic concepts but practical, present-day solutions.”
The introduction of the e.MAS 7 supports Northport’s broader Green Port initiatives by integrating cleaner, quieter and more energy-efficient vehicles into its daily operations. As Proton’s first all electric SUV, the e.MAS 7 offers a smooth and silent driving experience, contributing to a more peaceful environment overall.
On top of that, its fast-charging capabilities ensure consistent readiness, while the electric drivetrain helps lower fuel expenses and greenhouse gas emissions. With fewer moving parts than conventional vehicles, the Proton e.MAS 7 also promises reduced maintenance, making it a smart investment in long-term sustainability.
