BMW Concept Speedtop blends shooting brake elegance with high-performance exclusivity.
At the 2025 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como, BMW has unveiled the Concept Speedtop, a striking blend of timeless elegance and cutting-edge performance. This all-new design study reimagines the classic Touring form, drawing inspiration from the BMW Skytop while forging a distinct identity with a unique shooting brake silhouette.

With only 70 units set for production, the BMW Concept Speedtop will be a rare and highly coveted collector’s piece. It carries forward the momentum from last year’s Skytop debut, which led to a limited run of just 50 vehicles due to overwhelming demand from collectors and enthusiasts.

A Bold New Profile
BMW’s Head of Design, Adrian van Hooydonk, describes the Concept Speedtop as “an exclamation mark” in the brand’s Touring lineup. The vehicle’s long, flowing profile is defined by a central spine that runs from the bonnet through the roof to the rear spoiler. A shark-nose front end, illuminated kidney grille, and narrow, aggressive front lights give the car a formidable stance, while its wide shoulders and custom two-tone 14-spoke wheels emphasise its athletic character.

Adding to its visual drama is the colour gradient roof, transitioning from “Floating Sunstone Maroon” to “Floating Sundown Silver,” accentuating the car’s sculpted proportions.

Interior: Tradition Meets Innovation
The interior of the Concept Speedtop exemplifies BMW’s dedication to craftsmanship. Hand-finished in the brand’s Dingolfing Manufactory, the cabin combines brogued leather detailing with a sophisticated two-tone colour scheme. The “Sundown Maroon” of the exterior finds continuity inside, harmonising with light “Moonstone White” leather to separate dynamic from comfort zones.

A light beam embedded in the two-tone leather headliner reflects the car’s roof spline, delivering soft ambient illumination. The leather-lined luggage compartment, split into two sections, adds both practicality and opulence, complete with a dedicated lighting system.

Exclusivity by Schedoni
In a nod to Italian luxury, BMW partnered with Schedoni, renowned for its bespoke automotive leatherwork. Behind the seats, two leather-trimmed compartments house matching Schedoni travel bags, custom-made to complement the car’s design language.

Power and Performance
Under the sculpted bonnet lies BMW’s most powerful V8 engine, ensuring the Concept Speedtop doesn’t just look the part—it delivers thrilling performance to match its aesthetic appeal.

With orders now open and only 70 units available, the Concept Speedtop is set to become a modern classic. It’s proof that BMW can still make excellent looking cars… when the price is right.

I for one am hopeful that some of these design trends will trickle down into their mainstream offerings within a generation.
