Honda e:N1 Launches in Malaysia as First Sub-RM150K EV from a Major Japanese Brand
Honda Malaysia has officially launched the all-new Honda e:N1, its first fully electric vehicle (BEV), setting a new benchmark in the local EV market. Priced at RM149,900, the e:N1 becomes the first EV from a mainstream Japanese carmaker in Malaysia to break the RM150K barrier—a move that significantly lowers the entry point for Malaysians looking to make the switch to electric mobility.

This launch is a key milestone in Honda Malaysia’s electrification journey, following earlier innovations like IMA, VTEC Turbo, and e:HEV. According to Managing Director and CEO Narushi Yazaki, the e:N1 reflects Honda’s commitment to delivering fun-to-drive, future-ready cars that suit evolving market needs.

The Honda e:N1 features a 68.8kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers up to 500km range (NEDC), making it highly practical for daily use and longer journeys alike. It produces 150kW of power and 310Nm of torque, offering smooth, responsive performance with three selectable drive modes: Sport, Normal, and ECON.

Charging options are competitive as well, with DC fast charging up to 78kW, enabling a 30% to 80% charge in just 50 minutes, while AC charging up to 10kW takes about six hours from 10% to 80%.

The e:N1’s clean, futuristic design is marked by a sleek front fascia, LED lights, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and a new white Honda “H” badge that signals its electric identity. Inside, a sophisticated cabin awaits with blue ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, and a 15.1-inch advanced touchscreen with a three-tier interface supporting Wireless Apple CarPlay, Wired Android Auto, and navigation.

Safety is paramount, with the Honda SENSING suite complemented by exclusive features like Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Monitor, offered only on the e:N1. The car also provides ample space, a 60:40 split rear seat, and 344 litres of boot capacity.

To simplify ownership, Honda offers online booking via the HondaTouch app and New Car Pre-Booking portal, with support from trained EV brand ambassadors. A robust 8-year/160,000km warranty on the battery and EV system is included, along with the HiP EV insurance package for comprehensive protection.

With this launch, Honda Malaysia has made the electric dream more accessible than ever, offering a well-rounded EV with practical range, trusted branding, and a price tag that finally puts electric mobility within reach of the masses.
