Chery Safety Challenge Arrives In Indonesia To Highlight Battery Safety

The Chery safety challenge highlights battery performance in tropical climate conditions

Chery has officially launched the second phase of its global Chery Safety Challenge campaign in Indonesia, emphasizing the importance of battery safety in environments with extreme humidity. This leg of the campaign highlights Chery’s dedication to rigorous, real-world testing, showing how its vehicles perform under some of the most demanding conditions found across the globe.

The initiative follows a series of extreme safety demonstrations held in China, where Chery vehicles underwent a range of high-stress trials, including spiral rollovers, dual-vehicle collisions, and a remarkable seven-vehicle vertical stack challenge. At the heart of this new phase in Indonesia is the TIGGO 8 PRO CSH, Chery’s flagship plug-in hybrid SUV.

Moreover, this model will undergo intensive testing to demonstrate the reliability and durability of its advanced battery system in Indonesia’s challenging tropical climate. With high levels of humidity, frequent rainfall, and the ever-present risk of flooding, Indonesia presents a perfect proving ground for showcasing Chery’s technological resilience.

The TIGGO 8 PRO CSH had previously endured a grueling 48-hour stress test involving a seven-car vertical stack in Wuhu, China, setting a precedent for its robust engineering and safety standards. The focus on Indonesia aligns with Chery’s global strategy, titled In Somewhere, For Somewhere, which emphasizes market-specific product adaptation.

This approach also underlines Chery’s responsiveness to local environmental concerns, such as humidity and flood resistance, factors especially critical in Southeast Asian markets. Through this initiative, Chery aims to not only build trust among Indonesian consumers but also reinforce its image as a forward-thinking, safety-conscious automotive brand.

On top of that, by tailoring its testing and product development to the specific conditions of each market, Chery is working to redefine global expectations for plug-in hybrid vehicle safety. Following the Indonesia stop, the Chery Safety Challenge campaign will expand to other critical markets including South Africa, Brazil and Mexico.

Each location will present its own unique environmental challenges, providing Chery with further opportunities to demonstrate the adaptability and resilience of its vehicles. Ultimately, Chery’s Safety Challenge campaign is not just a demonstration of engineering excellence, it is a statement of intent.

Through these bold, localized safety initiatives, Chery aims to set new benchmarks for hybrid vehicle safety and solidify its position as a leader in intelligent, secure mobility solutions worldwide.
