Subaru Unveils 2026 Uncharted EV: Compact Electric SUV with Over 300 Miles of Range
Subaru of America has officially pulled the covers off its newest all-electric vehicle, the 2026 Subaru Uncharted EV, at a global debut. The compact all-electric crossover SUV is set to expand Subaru’s electric lineup, offering a compelling mix of performance, range, technology, and rugged versatility.
The Uncharted EV will be available in Premium FWD, Sport AWD, and GT AWD trims, with the entry-level Premium offering front-wheel drive, 221 horsepower, and an estimated range of over 483km. Meanwhile, the Sport and GT models come standard with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with X-MODE®, offering up to 338 horsepower, 467km of range, and a 0–110km/h time of around 5 seconds.
Power comes from a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery, which supports fast DC charging from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Subaru also includes a 150 kW NACS fast-charging port, compatible with over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S., and an 11-kW onboard charger for efficient home charging. Despite being nearly 7 inches shorter than the Solterra, the Uncharted provides over ample cargo space behind the second row and a Crosstrek-like turning radius for city maneuverability. AWD variants also include low-profile roof rails for added utility.
Inside, a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen comes standard across the range, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual wireless chargers, and USB-C ports for rear passengers. Safety is a priority too, with Subaru EyeSight® driver-assist systems, available Traffic Jam Assist, Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control, and more.
Top-spec GT trims elevate the experience with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, panoramic moonroof, Harman Kardon® audio, and Subaru’s StarTex® water-repellent interior. Style enhancements include two-tone roof options, 20-inch wheels, and Subaru’s signature illuminated six-star badge. The 2026 Subaru Uncharted EV will go on sale across U.S. dealerships in early 2026, with pricing and final specifications to be announced closer to launch. It’s not clear if this will eventually end up being a global model or if it shares any Toyota/BYD engineering roots.
