Car Crashes Into Coconut Water Vendor Near Kuala Kangsar

What happened to this car to cause this accident? Let’s find out

A coconut water vendor and two elderly individuals sustained injuries following a road accident near the Kuala Kangsar District Police Quarters earlier today. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. when a car driven by an elderly couple crashed into the vendor’s roadside stall.

According to the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, the vehicle, a Proton Saga driven by a 73-year-old man and his 69-year-old wife, first collided with a parked Honda City before veering off the road and ramming into the stall, which was operated by a 49-year-old woman. The impact caused damage to the stall and resulted in injuries to all three individuals involved.

Moreover, Assistant Director of Operations, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, said that none of the victims were trapped in the wreckage and were quickly assisted by bystanders who witnessed the accident. Members of the public at the scene provided initial aid while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.

“All three victims were conscious and received basic first aid from members of the public. They were later transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment,” said Sabarodzi in a statement.

Emergency personnel from the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) also arrived promptly at the scene and carried out safety checks to ensure there were no other individuals involved or hidden beneath the debris.

On top of that, he added, “Our team remained on-site to monitor the situation and to make sure no additional victims were affected by the incident.” The emergency operation concluded at 11:55 a.m., approximately 25 minutes after the initial call. While the full extent of the injuries has not yet been disclosed, all three individuals were reported to be in stable condition at the time they were transported to the hospital.

Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the accident, but the incident has raised concerns about elderly drivers and road safety, particularly near busy pedestrian and roadside vending areas.

This incident serves as a reminder of the risks faced by roadside vendors and the need for caution in areas where vehicles and pedestrian activity frequently intersect. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether any mechanical issues or health factors may have contributed to the crash. We got all this from Utusan Online.
