Will the Mercedes-Benz EQV 300 be able to shake up the luxury van market in Malaysia or not?
Hap Seng Trucks Distribution (HSTD), the authorised distributor of Mercedes-Benz Vans in Malaysia, has officially unveiled the new all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQV 300 in an exclusive media showcase. This marks the first introduction of the luxury electric MPV under HSTD’s stewardship and signals a new chapter for sustainable premium mobility in the country.
Available in AVANTGARDE spec, the EQV 300 combines elegant styling, cutting-edge tech and electric performance. On the outside, it features striking MULTIBEAM LED headlights, chrome rear trim with Mercedes-Benz lettering, and newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels. A refined selection of paint finishes enhances its commanding road presence.
Moreover, on the inside, the EQV 300 offers a luxurious, lounge-like environment. Dual 12.3-inch widescreens, ambient lighting in 64 colours, capacitive-touch steering, and redesigned air vents create a premium atmosphere. The Burmester surround sound system, with 15 speakers and a bass reflex box delivering 640W, brings immersive audio to every seat.
The interior is finished in Lugano leather and includes powered sliding doors on both sides, ensuring comfort and convenience for all occupants. “The new EQV 300 is a milestone in our journey towards sustainable, luxury mobility,” said Derrick Sim, CEO of HSTD. “It represents a thoughtful blend of innovation, performance, and environmental responsibility.”
Powered by a 90kWh lithium-ion battery and a 150kW electric motor, the EQV also delivers 204PS of power and 365Nm of torque. It offers a driving range of up to 418km (NEDC) and supports AC charging at up to 11 kW and DC fast charging at 110 kW, allowing 10–80 percent charge in just 40 minutes. Four drive modes, namely, Comfort, Sport, Eco and ECO+, enhance its adaptability too.
On top of that, safety features include Active Brake Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and a full airbag suite. A 360° camera and Active Parking Assist ensure stress-free parking. In support of Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), the EQV 300 reflects Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to a greener future.
To mark its launch, HSTD is offering a package including a complimentary Wallbox charger, three years of scheduled maintenance, and a RM10,000 rebate. The vehicle is priced at RM450,350 (OTR, without insurance), with a two-year vehicle warranty and eight-year battery coverage.
