Hap Seng Shuts Down Its smart EV Dealerships

smart electric cars are facing tough price competition and that is why Hap Seng closes down the two good location showrooms

We have just heard from the Hap Seng public relations team that they are no longer selling smart electric cars. Both smart showrooms are closed and this comes after smart Malaysia had 10 showrooms to start in November 2023.

Hap Seng Balakong was one of the first few smart dealrships to open with 120 kW DC chargers, making it one of the four outlets equipped with this high-output charging capability. With three service bays and two AC chargers for public use, smart Balakong sets a new standard for electric vehicle service and accessibility. The outlet boasted an 800 m² built-up area and was seamlessly integrated with a Mercedes-Benz dealership to attract premium EV buyers.

Then, there is the Hap Seng ‘heart of KL’ smart dealership. Nestled in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the Hap Seng smart outlet boasts a sleek and modern environment to showcase two units of the smart #1. Complemented by two service bays located in smart Jalan Ipoh and two AC chargers for public use, this outlet provides urban customers with a convenient location to explore the future of electric mobility. The outlet features a built-up area of 700 m² and is seamlessly integrated with a Mercedes-Benz dealership.

When smart first started business in May 2023, they had 5 showrooms ready for customers and this brought confidence for this electric car brand.

3. Eleganz Lifestyle Sdn. Bhd. (Eleganz Lifestyle) – A well-known 4S car dealership, Eleganz Lifestyle is situated in its own architectural marvel within the automotive zone, bringing the smart brand experience to customers in Penang, Kedah, and Melaka.
4. Lee Motors (Alor Star) Sdn. Bhd. (Lee Motors) – Occupying a prominent stand-alone building, Lee Motors contributes to the smart brand experience in Alor Star, Kedah.
5. Sigma Energy EV Sdn. Bhd. (Sigma Energy EV) – Another standalone building dealership, Sigma Energy EV joins the network in Melaka, adding to the brand’s visibility in the region.
