The facelifted Xpeng G6 is only available with LFP battery chemistry and upgrades all around.
Bermaz Xpeng Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of XPENG in Malaysia, has officially launched the facelifted XPENG G6 now called the G6 Ultra Smart Coupe SUV. First introduced to Malaysians in August 2024, the refreshed G6 now comes with significant upgrades in design, performance, charging technology, and smart features. Prices start from RM178,888.
AI at the Core of XPENG
According to Dato’ Francis Lee, Group CEO of Bermaz Auto Berhad, XPENG’s differentiation lies in having AI built into its DNA:
“XPENG is not a traditional automotive player. Its vision extends beyond EVs to include autonomous driving, robotics, and even flying cars – all leading towards embodied intelligence that delivers a better life for all.”
Lee added that more XPENG models with strong AI capabilities are expected to arrive in Malaysia soon.
Striking Design and Premium Interior
On the outside, the new G6 features a Starlight Wing LED light bar, redesigned rear diffuser, body-coloured wheel arches, and a sleeker “Ducktail” rear design. The refreshed look is topped off with a repositioned matte gray XPENG logo for a sharper identity.
Inside, the Super Star-Ring Interior Design transforms 60% of the cabin, introducing premium materials, immersive ambient lighting, and a capacitive steering wheel. Comfort is enhanced with front massage seats with heating, cooling, and lumbar support, plus class-leading rear seats with 12 levels of recline. A panoramic star sunroof completes the upmarket experience.
Superfast Charging and Long Range
Built on XPENG’s 800V SiC high-voltage platform with 5C LFP batteries, the G6 sets a new benchmark for charging. It supports peak charging power of up to 451 kW, allowing a 10% to 80% top-up in just 12 minutes.
With an 80.5 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, the Long Range Pro and AWD Performance variants deliver up to 525 km of driving range on a single charge. This is major change from the pre-facelift, where the base model cost less but had less range and a lower output came with an LFP battery pack while the long range model, which cost more, and had a higher output, came with an Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery.
Safety and Smart Driving
XPENG equips the G6 with advanced driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, and automated parking. Its reinforced structural battery safety design uses ballistic-grade armour, allowing it to withstand temperatures of up to 1,000°C and side crush forces of 80 tonnes. Battery life is also extended by 30%.
Variants, Colours, and Special Edition
The fully imported (CBU) G6 is available in Arctic White, Graphite Gray, Midnight Black, Silver Frost, and Stellar Purple, with two premium interior colour themes (Dark Gray and Light Gray).
A Black Edition is also available exclusively for the AWD Performance variant, featuring a blacked-out logo, 20-inch gloss black alloys, and black brake calipers, giving it a sportier road presence.
