The Honda Stepwgn is one of the best value mid-sized MPV’s you can own today
Honda Stepwgn is popular due to its focus on practicality, versatility, and a spacious, family-friendly interior in a compact, easy-to-maneuver body. It features highly configurable seating, a low floor for easy entry and loading, and clever features like its split-design “waku waku” tailgate on some generations, making it a highly functional and convenient vehicle for families.
The main rivals of the Honda Stepwgn are the Toyota Noah (and its twin, the Toyota Voxy which are both also sold ONLY vie used car importers) and the Nissan Serena ePOWER, which are all popular MPVs in the Japanese market.
The latest generation (sixth-generation) Honda Stepwgn was introduced in 2022 and it features a clean, boxy design with a strong horizontal theme, aimed at maximizing interior space and stability. BTW, its slightly smaller than the popular Honda Odyssey MPV.
It is available in two distinct models, the minimalist ‘Air’ and the more premium ‘Spada’ (which is very popular in our used market), each offering different aesthetic and interior touches.

Interestingly, the continuously variable transmission (CVT) and available e:HEV hybrid powertrain or turbocharged engine offers smooth, seamless acceleration, further contributing to a relaxed and comfortable ride experience in the city and also on the open highway.
The turbocharged inline-4 engine produces 150 PS and is designed for a good balance of power and fuel efficiency.
For the 2.0L Hybrid (e:HEV), this system uses a 2.0L DOHC i-VTEC engine that works alongside two electric motors, with the petrol driven engine primarily acting as a generator to power the motors. The combined system output is 215 PS, with the electric motor providing 181 horsepower.

Stepwgn Selling Prices In Malaysia
So, you cant buy this MPV brand new with factory warranty and after sales because Honda Japan has no plans for knock down kits (CKD) for Malaysia and also the region and so it means fully imported units will have to be sold. This means a selling price above RM200k which many buyers will hesitate.
