The Toyota Vios HEV has been previewed in Malaysia and the specs and pricing is as follows.
The fourth-generation Toyota Vios has officially entered the electrified era in Malaysia with the launch of the Toyota Vios HEV and the performance-inspired Vios HEV GR Sport.

This finally brings Toyota’s hybrid technology into the B-segment sedan market in Malaysia nearly 5 years after the introduction of this generation’s Honda City e:HEV and nearly a decade since the introduction of the last City hybrid.

UMW Toyota Motor offers the hybrid sedan in two distinct variants, positioned as the most accessible hybrid entry point in the brand’s local lineup:
- Vios HEV: Priced from RM103,900.
- Vios HEV GR Sport: Priced from RM109,900.
These prices make the Vios HEV a compelling and competitive option for mass-market buyers looking to transition toward cleaner mobility without the high entry costs typically associated with full electric vehicles.

Under the hood, the Vios HEV utilizes the 4th-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS). It pairs a high-efficiency 1.5-litre DOHC 16-valve petrol engine with an electric motor generator and a compact lithium-ion battery.

- Performance: The system delivers a combined output of 111 PS, offering stronger acceleration than the standard petrol 1.5G variant.
- Fuel Economy: It achieves an impressive NEDC combined fuel consumption of just 3.6L/100km, representing a 31% improvement in efficiency over conventional petrol models.
- Driving Experience: The E-CVT transmission ensures seamless power delivery, while the self-charging nature of the system eliminates “range anxiety” by recharging the battery through regenerative braking.

Safety remains a top priority, with both variants achieving a full 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating. The Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite comes standard, featuring:
- Pre-Collision System (PCS) and Lane Keep Control (LKC).
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with stop-and-go functionality.
- Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA).
- 3D Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) for effortless parking.

The cabin technology has been significantly upgraded. A new 10.1-inch Display Audio system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while a 7-inch digital instrument cluster provides real-time monitoring of energy flow and hybrid system status.

For those seeking a more spirited drive, the GR Sport variant adds Gazoo Racing-inspired enhancements. Beyond its aggressive aerokit, rear diffuser, and blacked-out accents, it features GR-tuned suspension and recalibrated electric power steering for sharper handling. Inside, the “Sport” theme continues with leather suede seats, contrast red stitching, and GR-branded touchpoints.

Toyota is backing the Vios HEV with a robust warranty package to ensure long-term ownership confidence.

The vehicle comes with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, while the hybrid battery, inverter, and power management unit are covered by an 8-year unlimited mileage warranty.

Customers also have the option to extend the hybrid components warranty to a total of 10 years.
