Yesterday (Monday) two women were injured after a Mitsubishi Xpander multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) they were travelling in was hit by a fallen tree at Persiaran Tun Arshad Ayub, Section 7, Selangor.
Assistant Director of the Operations Division, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, said his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 12.11 pm.
“A total of 12 personnel and officers along with machinery from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the scene of the incident which was four kilometres away,” he said in a statement on Monday.
Ahmad Mukhlis said that when the fire department arrived at the location five minutes later, the operations commander reported that two female victims were trapped in the Mitsubishi Xpander vehicle.

“The victim, identified as Nur Shahidah Abdul Aziz, 39, suffered injuries to her face and head, while Shareena Fairuz Abdul Manaf, 42, was injured in her waist,” he said. Both victims were taken to hospital and are being treated for the wounds. Both women are from UiTM’s Faculty of Chemical Engineering.
