KLIMS 2026: Nissan Booth, X-Trail e-POWER x e-4ORCE Previewed Ahead Of Launch

The Nissan booth at KLIMS 2026 was headlined by the preview of the new X-Trail.

Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) has officially set the stage for Nissan’s next wave of electrified mobility in ASEAN with the regional debut of the New Nissan X-Trail e-POWER x e-4ORCE at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2026).

Marking the brand’s third e-POWER model introduction for the local market, the premium all-wheel-drive SUV is officially confirmed for a commercial launch in Malaysia in the fourth quarter of 2026 (Q4 2026). This timeline reinforces Nissan’s overarching strategy to supply practical, accessible electrification technologies that seamlessly align with daily driving patterns without requiring external plug-in infrastructure.

The e-POWER Strategy: 100% Electric Drive, Zero Charging Cables

At the core of Nissan’s new energy initiative is its signature e-POWER technology. Unlike standard parallel hybrids that rely on alternating mechanical power from both a gas engine and a battery to twist the wheels, Nissan’s architecture is 100% electric motor-driven.

The wheels are completely turned by high-output electric motors, ensuring instantaneous acceleration, smooth operation, and structural quietness. The on-board petrol engine never directly drives the wheels; instead, it operates exclusively at optimal RPM thresholds as a high-efficiency generator to supply electricity to the compact battery pack. This design delivers a pure electric vehicle driving experience while retaining the convenient refueling routine of a traditional internal combustion vehicle.

e-4ORCE: Precision Intelligent Electric All-Wheel Control

The headline engineering feature for the New X-Trail is the integration of Nissan’s cutting-edge e-4ORCE all-wheel-control technology.

Traditional mechanical all-wheel-drive (AWD) systems distribute power via complex driveshafts, transfer cases, and mechanical differentials connected to a single central engine. This setup inherently induces minor latency delays in power distribution that can disrupt cornering lines and traction stability in sudden split-grip conditions.

Nissan’s intelligent e-4ORCE system addresses these limitations by utilizing dual electric motors mounted independently on the front and rear axles. The computer system monitors road feedback in real time to deliver individual torque and braking control to all four wheels independently. By automatically managing front-to-rear power bias and microscopic braking slip control, e-4ORCE delivers flatter, smoother deceleration, crisp handling precision, and unparalleled passenger ride comfort across demanding or slippery surfaces.

An Expanding Electrified Portfolio in Malaysia

“Malaysia is one of the key markets in Nissan’s electrification journey, and we are excited to confirm that the New Nissan X-Trail e-POWER x e-4ORCE will be launched here in the fourth quarter of 2026,” stated Christopher Tan, Executive Vice President of Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd. “This milestone marks another important step in our journey following the introduction of the Nissan KICKS e-POWER and the All-New Nissan Serena e-POWER“.

At the KLIMS 2026 exhibition pavilion, the flagship X-Trail sharing the limelight underscores Nissan’s diversified segment strategy :

  • Nissan KICKS e-POWER: The reigning Vehicle of the Year 2025, serving as a highly efficient compact urban crossover.
  • All-New Nissan Serena e-POWER: The recently crowned MPV of the Year 2026, locally assembled (CKD) in Malaysia to provide ultimate premium space packaging and flexible utility for multi-generational families.

Experience “Nissan Crossing Ginza” at MITEC

To match its forward-thinking mobility themes, Nissan has brought its exhibition space to life through an immersive, eye-catching manga-inspired street view of “Nissan Crossing Ginza”. The distinctive display booth blends classic Japanese pop-art creativity with the brand’s high-tech electrification vision, offering visitors a fresh, engaging format to discover future transport design and culture up close.

The public can explore Nissan’s electrified lineup firsthand from 12 to 21 June 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
