Zeekr X Refreshed In Malaysia For 2026 From RM159K-176K

The Zeekr X gets a much needed update.

The Zeekr X was one of the two models that debuted alongside the brand’s introduction to Malaysia. It arrived alongside the 009 MPV, which proved to be a much more popular product despite costing much more. In fact, the Zeekr X has been pretty much ‘dead in the water’ from the start. According to JPJ data, only 176 units have been registered. Compare that to the 009‘s 1,222 units and the more recent 7X’s 2,864 units registered and it becomes pretty clear that the mark was missed with this compact crossover despite it being a far less expensive product. Now, a year and a half after the initial model debuted, we finally have a thoroughly updated X. So, what’s new and will this version sell better?

Let’s start with an over-arching view. There are two variants; the Premium RWD and the Flagship AWD. The base model costs RM158,800 while the top spec one costs RM175,800. Maximum output of the base model is 250kW and 373Nm of torque while the flagship has 365kW and 573Nm of combined system output. The base model has an AC charging rate of 11kW while the all-wheel drive version gets 22kW, which is as fast as ‘slow charging’ gets. Besides that, the range is longer on the RWD model at 445km versus 415km on the more performance-oriented variant. Finally, you have 19″ alloys on the base in the ‘Paddle’ design in silver and 20″ ‘Forged’ black painted wheels on the full spec car.

Common to both variants are some nice features that elevate the vehicle to feel more upmarket than your typical compact crossover. That includes the aforementioned ‘Automated Entry & Interaction’ package which includes automatic front doors with no visible mechanical door handles (at least not any we could find) and an interactive B-pillar screen that displays charging status. Inside, you get a refrigerator/heater in the centre console. Fast charging is standard and rated at up to 150kW, bringing the battery from 10-80% in 30 minutes. The cabin has also been redesigned with a more conventional centre tunnel, omitting the chic and feminine look of the original. The RWD model gets a white and black interior with a heads-up display as standard and a Porcelain Pink exterior paint option. The AWD version gets front ventilated message seats, a black interior with red seatbelts with Onyx Black and Matte Khaki Green exterior options.

Being a premium EV, the equipment list is extensive:

  • 7 airbags
  • full ADAS
    • 5 HD cameras
    • 5 milimeter wave radars
    • 12 ultrasonic sensors
    • rear autonomous braking
    • adaptive cruise control
    • automatic lane change
    • lane centering control
    • automated parking assist
    • evasive manoeuver assist
    • driver performance monitoring
  • LED headlamps
  • powered tailgate
  • panoramic sunroof
  • 50W wireless charger
  • 13-speaker Yamaha sound system
  • ambient lighting

There are low-interest financing options available via Maybank and Public Bank. The warranty and data package is as follow:

  • 5-year / 150,000 km vehicle manufacturer warranty.
  • 8-year / 160,000 km high-voltage battery and components warranty.
  • 1 year of complimentary connected data services (capped at 6GB per month).

Buyers can opt to pay their entire downpayment amount interest-free via credit card installments spread across up to 48 months, while securing a competitive hire purchase interest rate starting from as low as 1.18%. Customers who do not require this specialized financing package can alternatively opt to receive a complimentary 22 kW wallbox charger alongside a portable 3-pin charger for home use.
