Mazda CX-60 Pricing And Powertrain Spec Confirmed For Malaysia

A leaked keynote to dealers from Bermaz shows the Malaysian pricing and powertrain for the Mazda CX-60.

The 2010s was undeniably a great decade for Mazda. This little Japanese car company went from struggling with its Ford partnership to thriving as an independent brand with 2 generation of Skyactiv products eating into the market share of its rivals in a significant way. Unfortunately, we’re midway through the 2020s and in Malaysia at least, we haven’t seen a single all-new Mazda product beside the CX-30 in early 2020. Well, things are about to change.

At the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2024 and at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, Bermaz teased the CX-60, previewing a new generation of of products. This will be the first Mazda SUV with a longitudinal engine layout, meaning that even in 2WD form, it will rear-wheel driven. Now we’ve received word that Mazda dealers have opened the order books with pricing set at RM198,900.

Another thing that seems to have been confirmed is the powertrain spec. We’re getting just one variant to start things off – the familiar naturally-aspirated 2.5L Skyactiv-G petrol engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission sending 189hp and 261Nm of torque to the rear wheels exclusively.

Five colours are confirmed for our market – Soul Red Crystal, Platinum Quartz, Rhodium White, Jet Black and Zircon Sand. And that’s about all we know so far. That being said, from the previews at the motor shows it’s likely the CX-60 will be specified with leather seats, dual 12.3″ displays, and 20″ rims.

In all likelihood, the Mazda CX-60 will be fully-imported. That being said, for a fully-imported vehicle with a fairly large displacement engine, the pricing seems to be within reason. Will this be the next breakthrough vehicle for Mazda and Bermaz? Or is the pricing a tad too high amidst all the competition coming in from China? Maybe head on down to your nearest Mazda dealership and check it out yourself.
