Deliveries for the all-new facelifted PROTON X50, the newest addition to PROTON’s model range, have begun in earnest following its official launch on 24 July.
Over a period of just five working days, 999 units have been delivered to buyers nationwide, ensuring early bird customers are rewarded for their support prior to the price reveal. As at the end of July, 2,000 units have rolled off the production line, ensuring sales momentum remains high in the coming weeks and months.
With over 140,000 units sold since its launch in October 2020, the PROTON X50 is the most popular B-segment SUV in Malaysia and PROTON intends to build on that success by widening its product appeal.
Targeting a more youthful market segment, the launch of the new X50 has seen the company collaborate with local artists and influencers, as well as composing a song together with singing group De Fam, who performed it live and debuted the accompanying music video at the launch event.
Featuring new styling both inside and out, upgraded ADAS Level 2 technology, a new engine, an upgraded IHU system with a large 14.6-inch screen, and for the first time ever, Bahasa Melayu voice recognition, the PROTON X50 is available in Executive, Premium and Flagship variants.
Powered by a new i-GT 1.5 TD engine mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox it delivers 133kW (181PS) and 290Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds while delivering a 4.7% improvement in efficiency.
On-The-Road prices without insurance are RM89,800 for the Executive, RM101,800 for the Premium and RM113,300 for the Flagship variant, respectively.
Additionally, there is a deal consisting of a cash rebate of RM4,000 is offered to the first 10,000 buyers.
