Perodua Flexiplan: Malaysia’s 1st Shariah-Compliant Agility Financing Plan With Maybank Islamic

Perodua and Maybank Islamic Introduce Malaysia’s First Shariah-Compliant Agility Financing

Perodua, Malaysia’s leading compact carmaker, has partnered with Maybank Islamic Berhad to launch the nation’s first Shariah-compliant agility financing plan — the Perodua Flexiplan, powered by Maybank Islamic myimpact Drive Financing-i.

This innovative scheme is designed to make vehicle ownership more flexible, affordable, and inclusive for Malaysian customers. At its core is a Murabahah Vehicle Term Financing arrangement that offers lower monthly repayments over an initial five-year term.

Under the Perodua Flexiplan, customers can choose from four popular models — the Myvi, Axia (excluding the Axia E), Ativa, and Aruz. At the end of year five, buyers have three options:

  1. Trade-in for a new model – Perodua will buy back the vehicle at a competitive price, using the residual value to offset the down payment on a new car.
  2. Settle the outstanding balance – allowing customers to own their vehicle outright.
  3. Extend financing – continue with a revised payment plan for up to four more years.

This approach ensures car owners can seamlessly adapt their vehicles to suit different life stages without financial strain.

Perodua President and CEO, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, said the partnership “offers the best possible financing package where everyone wins – Perodua, Maybank Islamic, and especially our valued customers.” He believes the plan will be well-received, backed by Malaysia’s largest bank and Perodua’s strong brand trust.

Maybank Group CEO for Community and Financial Services, Syed Ahmad Taufik Albar, highlighted the bank’s commitment to “flexible, transparent, inclusive, and sustainable financial solutions,” noting that this initiative addresses the evolving needs of modern car buyers.

The plan also integrates with Perodua’s existing Shariah-compliant ecosystem, including Perodua Total Protect Plus takaful underwritten by Etiqa, which provides RM5,000 special peril coverage, and Credit Reducing Term Takaful for added protection.

By combining financial transparency, ownership flexibility, and customer-focused features, Perodua and Maybank Islamic aim to set a new benchmark for vehicle financing in Malaysia.
