Mitsubishi Motors has debuted the Mitsubishi Elevance Concept, an electrified crossover SUV that fuses the brand’s signature all-wheel control technology.
The concept car, presented under the booth theme “Forever Adventure,” is designed to elevate the quality of time spent both inside the vehicle and at the destination. Mitsubishi Motors President and CEO Takao Kato stated that the company remains committed to the “pure joy of driving,” aiming to inspire a mobility experience that awakens the sense of adventure.
Advanced Electrification and All-Wheel Control
The Elevance Concept showcases Mitsubishi’s expertise in integrating robust drivetrain technology with sustainable performance:
- PHEV System: The vehicle features a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) system equipped with a large-capacity traction battery and a high-efficiency gasoline engine compatible with carbon-neutral fuel. This enables clean, exhilarating performance for everyday electric driving and provides worry-free range for longer excursions.
- Quad-Motor S-AWC: The concept utilizes an advanced electric quad-motor 4WD system integrated with Mitsubishi Motors’ signature Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) technology. This system features in-wheel motors at the front to enhance steering stability and dual-motor Active Yaw Control (AYC) at the rear for powerful driving force. This setup ensures a smooth, comfortable ride, superior road handling, and minimizes wobble and sway to reduce the risk of carsickness on uneven terrain.
- Glamping Power: The large-capacity traction battery can provide ample power to features like a kitchen and shower enclosure in an attached trailer, transforming adventure destinations into luxurious glamping retreats.
AI Co-Driver and Luxurious Interior
The Elevance Concept redefines the in-car experience with sophisticated digital and spatial design:
- AI Co-Driver: A key innovation is the AI Co-Driver, which is displayed on the steering wheel LCD screen and instrument panel. This system uses AI technology to continuously analyze surrounding conditions and the driver’s lifestyle, offering personalized destination suggestions and recommending optimal drive modes based on real-time road conditions detected by sensors.
- Exterior Design: The design, dubbed the “Luxe Adventurer Concept,” features smooth, seamless cabin styling over a taut, muscular lower body, showcasing an evolved Dynamic Shield front design with a honeycomb-structured grille. Lowered side windows maximize passengers’ enjoyment of the surrounding scenery.
- Interior Space: The interior is molded into a seamless, shell-type form, visually projecting a cloud of safety and sophistication. It offers a three-row, six-passenger seating layout with high-quality leather seats and includes a large-screen monitor that extends from the driver’s side, giving an intuitive view of front blind spots.
