A New Way To Pay For Tolls Has Arrived: ANPR Via JustGO App

JustGO gives Malaysians a new way to pay for their toll journeys without TnG.

Malaysia’s highway landscape is undergoing a digital transformation with the official pilot launch of the JustGO Malaysia app and Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology arriving ahead of TnG’s Titanflow. Introduced by PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) on January 9, 2026, this initiative marks a historic step toward Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) by offering “lane freedom” to motorists.

What is JustGO and ANPR?

The JustGO app is an all-in-one digital platform designed for seamless highway travel. It integrates the ANPR system, which uses high-definition cameras and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automatically detect vehicle license plates.

Unlike traditional methods that require you to stick to specific RFID or SmartTAG lanes, ANPR allows registered users to enter and exit via any lane at participating toll plazas. The system is powered by machine learning, enabling it to recognize plates accurately across various speeds, angles, and even in heavy rain.

How to Use the JustGO App

Setting up is simple and requires no additional hardware or upfront costs. Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Download & Register: Get the JustGO Malaysia app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  2. Verify Identity: Complete the e-KYC process using your MyKad or Passport.
  3. Register Vehicle: Upload your vehicle details and photos as prompted in the app.
  4. Link Payment: Payouts are seamless via linked debit or credit cards (up to three cards can be added).
  5. Drive as Usual: When passing through participating tolls, maintain a speed of 20–25 km/h; the boom gate will open automatically without you needing to stop or tap a card.

Key Benefits for Drivers

  • Lane Freedom: No more headache over which lane to enter—every lane is your lane.
  • No Manual Top-ups: Tolls are deducted directly from your linked bank card.
  • Automatic E-Invoicing: Digital receipts are generated instantly, making it easier to track expenses or file tax claims.
  • Reduced Congestion: Faster detection speeds help eliminate the “stop-and-go” bottlenecks at busy plazas.

While this new system is being tested, existing payment methods like Touch ‘n Go, SmartTAG, and RFID remain fully operational for all users.
