Toyota Expands Hybrid Portfolio In Indonesia With Veloz, Vios And Yaris

Toyota launched multiple hybrid vehicle models at the recent Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026, held at JI Expo Kemayoran from February 5th-15th, 2026.

During the event, Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) introduced three hybrid electric vehicle models – the New Vios Hybrid, the New Yaris Cross G Hybrid, and the New Alphard XE Hybrid and announced the official prices for all variants of the New Veloz Hybrid EV. The New Veloz Hybrid has been positioned as the lowest-priced full hybrid in its segment.

According to TAM President Director Takuya Yokohama, the introduction of additional hybrid models, including the New Veloz Hybrid, is intended to increase the availability of electrified vehicles without requiring changes to existing driving practices.

TAM stated that Toyota’s operations in Indonesia include cumulative investments exceeding IDR 100 trillion (USD5.9 billion), the operation of five manufacturing facilities, and local production accounting for approximately 90% of domestic vehicle sales.

Toyota introduced the New Vios Hybrid as an entry-level sedan equipped with a 1.5-litre CVT hybrid powertrain. The vehicle is fitted with a 10-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging feature, a panoramic view monitor, and Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance systems.

Toyota also launched the New Yaris Cross G Hybrid and the New Alphard XE Hybrid. The Yaris Cross G Hybrid is positioned as a lower-priced hybrid SUV, while the Alphard XE Hybrid is offered at a lower price point than other Alphard hybrid variants.

Toyota has added side steps to all Alphard and Vellfire variants to assist passenger entry and exit, particularly for elderly occupants and children. The Vellfire continues to be equipped with rear-seat entertainment.

The launch of these three models increases the number of hybrid vehicles available in Toyota’s line-up in Indonesia. The New Veloz Hybrid has also been introduced as a full hybrid option within the MPV range.

TAM Vice-President Director Henry Tanoto stated that the company is expanding its hybrid vehicle offerings at IIMS and has begun marketing the New Veloz Hybrid in Indonesia.

He further added that the company intends to align its product range with local mobility requirements.
