Chery Malaysia has officially presented a brand-new Chery TIGGO CROSS Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) to the grand prize winner of its recent “PHEV Test Drive Lucky Draw” contest, celebrating the brand’s growing community of electrified vehicle enthusiasts.
What began as a standard maintenance appointment for her existing vehicle turned into a life-changing event for Joan Gan Cherl Wean, who was recently named the Grand Prize winner of Chery Malaysia’s latest promotional campaign. Selected from a pool of over 1,300 participants, the Klang-based mother of two was awarded the all-new TIGGO CROSS HEV during an official handover ceremony at Chery Klang.
The Path to Winning
The “Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Test Drive Lucky Draw” contest, which ran from 9 December 2025 to 6 January 2026, was designed to encourage Malaysians to experience Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) technology firsthand. Participants were required to test-drive any Chery PHEV model and capture a photo with the vehicle to qualify for prizes totaling RM200,000.
Gan, who has been a loyal Chery TIGGO 7 PRO owner for over a year, entered the contest at the encouragement of dealership staff while her car was being serviced. “Initially thinking it was a prank, the sales team sent me the video recording of the winner’s live draw session,” Gan noted during the prize presentation. The win comes at an opportune time, as her family had already been considering a move to a new SUV.

The campaign serves a broader strategic purpose for the brand: increasing consumer familiarity with hybrid and electric drivetrains. Lee Wen Hsiang, Vice President of Chery Malaysia, emphasized that firsthand experience is critical for modern buyers.

You will then be able to decide if it is the best fit for you,” Lee stated. The TIGGO CROSS HEV, alongside other prizes like electronic gadgets and appliances awarded during the campaign, highlights Chery’s commitment to rewarding its expanding customer base.
