Proton e.MAS 5 Surpasses 5,000 Deliveries Milestone

Proton e.MAS 5 continues to reinforce its dominance in Malaysia’s electric vehicle (EV) segment, achieving a record-breaking delivery milestone.

PRO-NET, the official distributor of the Proton e.MAS brand, has announced a significant achievement in its journey toward national electrification. In just two months since its introduction, the Proton e.MAS 5 has surpassed 5,000 deliveries, a feat unmatched by any other EV brand in the Malaysian market within a similar timeframe.

Dominating the EV Segment

The sales data for February 2026 highlights the brand’s sustained momentum. Proton e.MAS recorded total sales of 1,928 units during the month, bringing its year-to-date (YTD) total to 5,219 units when including exports. The e.MAS 5 was the primary driver of this success, contributing 1,562 units in February alone.

Currently, the model leads as the No.1 EV in the country for both February and the year-to-date period. Remarkably, it also ranks 5th among all vehicle models in Malaysia, proving that it can compete effectively against established internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

The Rise of Hybrid Mobility

While the pure electric e.MAS 5 captures the headlines, the brand’s diversification into hybrid technology is also yielding impressive results. The recently introduced e.MAS 7 PHEV has generated more than 3,500 bookings within just one and a half months of its debut.

Positioned as a practical upgrade for traditional engine users, the e.MAS 7 PHEV utilizes intelligent EM-i hybrid technology to provide a familiar driving experience with enhanced efficiency. With on-the-road prices starting from RM105,800, it stands as one of the most affordable plug-in hybrid options available to Malaysian families today.

Building a Complete Ecosystem

The success of the e.MAS brand is attributed not only to the vehicles themselves but also to the comprehensive ecosystem PRO-NET is building. This focus includes increasing charging accessibility, providing robust aftersales support, and ensuring seamless digital integration for a reassuring ownership experience.

As Malaysians embrace electrified mobility at an accelerating pace, Proton e.MAS remains focused on delivering value-driven solutions that reduce fuel dependency and lower daily running costs. With a strong start to 2026, the brand is well-positioned to lead Malaysia’s broader transition toward sustainable transportation.
