Mitsubishi Triton Championship Edition Variants Launched In Malaysia

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia now have two variants of the Triton Championship Edition available for sale celebrating their win at the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR).

To commemorate its historic championship win at the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) 2025, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia is launching the limited-run Triton Championship Edition. This special release brings rally-proven engineering and exclusive motorsports-inspired aesthetics to the Triton Athlete and AT Premium models.

The Mitsubishi Triton Championship Edition is a tribute to the durability and capability that allowed Team Mitsubishi Ralliart to conquer over 2,300 kilometres of grueling terrain in Thailand. This limited edition offers Malaysian truck enthusiasts a rare opportunity to own a vehicle with enhanced specifications that are not available on standard production models. It should be in showrooms across Malaysia by 11 March 2026.

Two Variants, Two Distinct Personalities

The Championship Edition is split across the two highest tiers of the Triton range, each catering to a different type of “Urban Explorer”:

  • Triton Athlete (Limited to 150 units): Finished exclusively in Jet Black Mica, this variant is designed for those seeking a dominant road presence. It features unique body decals, rugged All-Terrain tyres, and championship-inspired headrest covers. Tech upgrades include a 9-inch infotainment system and an All-Round Monitor for better visibility in tight spaces.

  • Triton AT Premium (Limited to 120 units): Available only in White Diamond, this model focuses on a sporty lifestyle. It stands out with 18-inch black sports rims, a dedicated styling bar, and a front lower bumper garnish, all tied together with motorsports body decals.

Hyperpower Performance and Advanced 4WD

Both variants are powered by the newly developed Hyperpower 4N16 clean diesel engine. The high-output version in the Triton Athlete delivers a potent 204PS and 470Nm of torque, utilizing a two-stage turbocharging system for responsive power at a lower rev range.

The Athlete also benefits from the Super Select 4WD-II system and Active Yaw Control (AYC), which improves cornering performance by applying light braking to the inner front wheel. Drivers can choose from seven drive modes—including Gravel, Snow, Mud, and Rock—to ensure optimum traction on any surface.

Safety and Ownership Excellence

Safety remains a priority with the inclusion of Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing (MMSS). This suite provides high-tier driver assistance, including Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Standard features across the range also include Active Stability & Traction Control and Hill Descent Control.

The Triton Championship Edition is priced at RM169,980 for the Athlete and RM155,980 for the AT Premium. As an added festive touch for the launch, customers who confirm their bookings will receive an exclusive key fob case and a motorsports-inspired sticker pack.
